What is a Moon Phase

The different moon shapes of the lit portion can be seen from earth; this is known as a moon phase.

Although the phase of the moon is the same at the same time around the world, depending on the location of the viewer, the moon is tilted at different angles. For example the moon phase in the Southern Hemisphere is always observed inverted to that of the Northern Hemisphere.

We have replicated the Moon Phase and night sky seen from when Northrop Grumman Antares rocket was launched at Launch Pad-0A on Friday Nov. 1, 2019.

HOW DO WE DO IT

The Science behind the moon phase

The moon phase is calculated with high-precision astronomy computations based on space-based telescope observations and computations. It is the same computations used in the field of scientific research.

We used the computations to calculate the moon phase for any date and location in the past or future (from year 1900 onward). You can quickly find the moon phase for any date on our design page. You can read more at The Science Behind Our Moon Prints

You can compare the moon phase that you design with that of any observed or software before you order.
